In October 2010, the new British "Men & Movies" satellite/Freesat channel began repeat showings of "classic" British Professional Wrestling, as seen
until 1988 on ITV's "World of Sport".
Please notify The Wrestling Furnace Picture Gallery if you know of any other TV channels where it may be seen. For those in the UK with Freesat or Sky,
etc., keep watching the listings for channels similar to "Men & Movies".
The "Men & Movies" Channel opened in October 2010 on Freesat, and in spring 2011 it joined the "mainstream" Sky service, and is now Sky channel 185.
(Shows are repeated an hour later on "Men & Movies+1" on Sky channel 186).On Freesat, "Men and Movies" is shown on channel 143.
Before it became "mainstream", SKY subscribers could manually tune in to the channel and add it to their "Other Channels" list. The
instructions on how to do this, will be left here for future reference.
Schedules will vary, but generally, for now, "WORLD OF SPORT" wrestling is shown on weekdays and Sundays from 9:00am until 12:00noon and on weekdays also
from 5:00 to 7:00pm. There are 3 hours on Saturdays from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. Check on-screen listings, or the
UK TV Guide website for up-to-date schedules.
The digital version of Welsh Channel 4 (Sky Channel 134, S4C ~ Digidol)
Up until early 2005, the digital version of Welsh Channel 4 (Sky Channel 134, S4C ~ Digidol) re-ran some of its half-hour long wrestling shows from the
1980s and 1990s on Saturdays under the title "Reslo".
Times varied, and "Reslo" was not shown every Saturday. Scheduling information supplied by S4C to The
Wrestling Furnace was inaccurate, so on-screen and magazine/newspaper listings needed to be checked. ("Reslo" was normally shown sometime between 12 noon and
5:00pm). Commentary was in the Welsh language, but unfortunately the action was often more American than classic British style. However, S4C did feature some good
wrestling in the 1980s, after it disappeared from the ITV screens, so maybe they can be persuaded to show repeats of this at a future date? Get sending your emails to them!!
