Stephen St.John

Middleweight

This page is in the process of development, following Stephen's recent email to this website. He is currently sending more information and photographs from his time with Anglia Wrestling Promotions in the 1960s and 1970s. This includes more about his late father John L Haggar. Stephen and his father both trained at the Brian Trevors wrestling gym/school, based in Norfolk. Despite the article below, Stephen is Norfolk born and bred. John L Haggar had several aliases, including Humphrey Mendoza, Mr X, The Sheik, and one half of The Stompers tag team with his long term friend "Bad" Bill Pye.

These pictures of Stephen St.John vs Kenny "Hercules" Nichols were taken in 1972, during a long-running series of bouts between the two men
