Tarzan Boy Darren and Steve Fury organised the seventh of the twice-yearly British Professional Wrestlers' Reunions in the Leeds area, at The Oulton Institute.
Report, by John White:
The British Wrestlers' Northern Reunion was held again on the 14th October 2012 at the Oulton Institute, Oulton in Leeds.
The event was arranged by Steve Fury and Tarzan Boy Darren Ward.
Over seventy wrestlers, families, and friends attended the event.
It was a good, friendly atmosphere, and everyone seemed to enjoy the afternoon.
Two awards were presented by ex champion wrestler Marty Jones.
The first award, for lifetime achievement, was given to the late Eric Taylor, who at one time was British Heavy Middleweight Champion.
His son, Steve Taylor, was present to accept the award.
The second award was for 'Services to Wrestling', which was given to MC/ referee, Gordon Pryor.
Peter Baines and Gordon Pryor then MC'd the final half of the programme.
Peter Baines read out a list of wrestlers who had, sadly, died over the last few months.
A raffle was drawn, and a good selection of prizes were won.
The wrestlers were each individually called to the floor, and those present were able to obtain photographs etc.
The event finished between 5pm/6pm.
