In November 2010, this site published an appeal to The Wrestling Fraternity from "Cheeky Boy Films", who were looking for help in the form of wrestling memorabilia and advice on the authenticity of their storyline for a Channel 4 sitcom / pilot. They received a favourable response, and shooting began in January 2011.

Al Marshall - Hollywood here I come!

It remains to be seen how much of the final storyline will be about wrestling.
The programme is due to be broadcast in September 2011 on Channel 4 in the UK. If that goes well, there is talk of a follow-up.

Al Marshall reports that the wrestlers were filmed in a pub, attending a wake for a wrestler called "Ginger Frost". They were filmed toasting him , and saying what a good guy he was. Then suddenly, out of the blue, a young girl burst into the pub, shouting and screaming about how she'd been attacked by her boyfriend. Then the boyfriend came in, and started carrying on, calling them all a bunch of sad old so-and-so's. So they set about him, and one of them got him in a full nelson, they gave him the bumps, got him in a boston crab, dragged him across the floor and smashed him into a table, did an elbow drop on him, then threw him out.

Filming took place in The Leeds Rifleman, which had its name changed temporarily to The Half Nelson. Some of the pub walls were also hung with photographs of wrestlers and wrestling.

Filming took place over two very hectic days. The wrestlers, as always, enjoyed each other's company, plus meeting the actors, director and film crew who were all very easy to get along with.
